In support of Western Global Airlines’ (WGA) overall safety goals, and important step towards achieving a companywide Safety Management System (SMS), WGA has established this system through which Flight Crews, Mechanics, Flight Followers, and all Other Employees can voluntarily identify and report safety, security and operational concerns. The collected information is reviewed and analyzed to facilitate early detection and improved awareness of operational deficiencies and adverse trends. This is accomplished by identifying the root causes and determining appropriate remedial actions which are then monitored for effectiveness. The overall process promotes collaboration among employee work groups and management in the early identification of hazards in our operation and enhances the proactive approach regarding early response to safety concerns and corrective actions that are at the heart of the Western Global Airlines Safety Culture.
Western Global Airlines, in cooperation with the FAA, has established an Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) for WGA Pilots. ASAP is a voluntary, self-reporting program that collects data and identifies significant safety concerns, operational deficiencies, non-compliance with regulations, and deviations from Company policies and procedures that would otherwise go unreported because of the sensitive nature of the information. ASAP provides a non-disciplinary Just Culture approach to reporting safety concerns, in partnership with the relevant departments and the FAA. The ASAP Event Review Committee (ERC) reviews and analyzes each event in order to make system wide and individual corrections.
Safety issues are resolved through corrective actions, rather than through punishment or discipline. This program allows employees to voluntarily disclose mistakes or errors.
If you have any questions regarding ASAP please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of your ERC members or the ASAP Managers at ASAP@westernglobal.aero or by calling the main number and extension 7233 (SAFE).
For more information please refer to the WGA MOU, FAA ASAP Advisory Circular 120-66C and N8900.511.
Western Global Airlines has developed a system for the submission of safety concerns and event reports by all of our employees to help identify safety and operational deficiencies. These reports will be investigated and analyzed to identify hazards, determine appropriate safety and/or operational improvements, monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions, and proactively promote employee awareness of potential problems.
Detailed reporting instructions can be found in the WGA Safety Manual.
Western Global Airlines has implemented a Fatigue Risk Management Plan (FRMP), which establishes an open safety reporting process that allows all Pilots to report any condition, action, or process which adversely affects flight crew fatigue. Every fatigue report will be evaluated by the Fatigue Review Board (FRB) to determine root cause using an objective assessment of data.
For more information please refer to the WGA FRMP Manual.
Employee reporting is crucial for Western Global Airlines to quickly and proactively correct safety deficiencies. If you have any questions, please contact the WGA Safety Department, at safety@westernglobal.aero.
