As part of our Safety Management System (SMS), SkyWest Airlines uses the ASAP Web Based Application Tool (WBAT) module to actively engage in reporting and mitigating systemic risk inherent to frontline operations.
In cooperation with the SkyWest Employee Council (SEC) and the SkyWest FAA Certificate Management Office (CMO), SkyWest has established an ASAP reporting module for employees categorized under the following workgroups: Dispatch, Flight Attendant, Maintenance, and Pilots. SkyWest’s ASAP is a voluntary employee reporting program designed to investigate and respond to de-identified frontline employee safety concerns, including potential regulatory violations. This joint effort functions to reduce risk identified in reported safety concerns, operational deficiencies, regulatory noncompliance, deviations from company policies and procedures, and unusual events. In partnership with the affected departments, the SEC, and the CMO, each report is investigated and corrective actions implemented without fear of reprisal.
