The primary purpose of the Safety Department is to provide continuous surveillance and analysis of the operation by evaluating compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, state and local government rules and regulations, and the Company's established policies and procedures. By reviewing safety practices, and analyzing and summarizing the resulting data, the Safety Department provides senior management with an overview of the airline's condition and ability to operate safely and within compliance.
Incident, Accident, and Damage Reporting
- Reporting an incident, accident or damage is critical so management can effectively address issues presenting the greatest risk to Company operations.
- Company incident, accident and damage reports will be stored in WBAT.
- There will always be technical, operational, and human factor hazards associated with the operation of an aircraft. The Company actively seeks to identify hazards and control associated risks in all operational areas.
- Through reporting and analysis, safety and security issues are carefully recorded and monitored to identify possible adverse trends, and to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents that could lead to an accident.
- A critical element in achieving a robust safety culture is the full, free, and uninhibited reporting of all relevant issues, concerns, incidents and hazards. The Company's safety reporting system is non-punitive in nature.
- To ensure reporting safety issues is easy, the Company has implemented a confidential reporting system for reporting of safety related information within WBAT; other methods include the safety hotline and safety email. Unless required by law, the Company will maintain the confidentiality of any safety information reported by prohibiting access by unauthorized Team Members, and by protecting the contents of the safety reporting system from disclosure to any outside party.
- All reports will be reviewed by the Safety Department with any action taken by applicable department leadership.
